The second day of navratri or dritiya day of shukla paksha of ashwin month is considered for the worship of maa Brahmcharini. Today the moon is in Chitra Nakshtra. Today you can say the day for Chandra darshan. We observe nine forms of Maa Durga for the accomplishment of different desires. On this very auspicious day we observe Maa Brahmcharini. We can ward off all the sorrow and tensions by worshipping Maa Durga and get the contentness.
Maa Brahmcharini has created the shashtra like mahabal and mahavidya in108 forms of Maa Durga. She is considered as the second most influentialgoddess. As Brahma is the founder of all Vedas and knowledge, Maa Brahmcharini represents all the Mantra and creation. She is the symbol of all knowledge in this perishable world.She holds a rosary in her right hand and Kamandalu in her left. She personifies love and loyalty. Rudraksha is HER most adorned ornament.To get the all attention and blessings of Maa Durga recite the following mantra--------

“It means to say that Hey Maa you are present everywhere and you are famous and worshipped in the form of Maa Brahmcharini. I pray to you again and again.” There is a saying thatin previous birth Maa Brahmcharini was Parvati, the daughter of Himvan. One day she was sitting with her friends. Naradaji came there and anticipated that "You will get married with a naked ‘Bhole baba'. You were with Him in the form of Sati, the daughter of Daksh in your previous birth. But nowif you want to get Him as your husband you will have to perform penance for Him." Parvati told her mother Menaka that she would marry none except Shiv, otherwise she would remain unmarried. She started doing tapa that’s why she is also called tapacharini.
She is the symbol of power of tapa which tells us that without doing tapa it is impossible to get any happiness or siddhi. She flows the power of tapa in the body of Her devotees. This form of Maa Durga gives lots of blessings to her devotees and they develop the feelings of patience, sacrifice, tapa, varagya and sadachar. It is believed that on this very day we are in the swadhishthan chakra.
HOW TO WORSHIP MAA BRAHMCHARINI
• First of all place the idol of Maa Brahmcharini on a wooden seat covered with red cloth.
• Put a small pile of yellow akshat and on this pile put a white quartz garland consisting 108 manka.
• Now take the red flower in your hand also put manokamna gutika on the wooden seat and concentrate your mind for Maa Brahmcharini.
• Now offer the flowers on manokamna gutika. Offer a navedya made up of milk to Maa.
• Light a deep of pure ghee. Now recite this mantra 108 times with hakik mala.

• After completing the mantra ask maa to fulfil your desires. And pray with lots of devotions and dedications. Recite arti and keertan so that she can remove all the diseases from your home.
BHOG FOR THE NINE FORMS OF MAA DURGA
• BHOG TO MAA SHELPUTRI - First day is considered for Maa Shelputri. She is the daughter of Himalaya and thus is called Shailputri. On this day pure cow ghee is offered on the feet of Maa. You will be blessed with the disease free life by offering this bhog.
• BHOG FOR MAA BRAHMCHARINI -The second form, Mata Brahmacharini, of Mata Durga is offered with Sugar as Bhog. This increases the longevity of the family members.
• BHOG FOR MAA CHANDRAGHANTA -Mata Chandra ghanta is worshipped on the third day on Navratra, i.e., Tritiya Tithi of Ashwin Shukla Paksha. Mata Chandraghanta fulfils all the wishes of the devotee and removes all the pains and problems. We can offer milk, sweets made of milk or Kheer as a bhog to Mata Chandraghanta. Brahmans are also fed and Dakshina is given to them.
• BHOG FOR MAA KUSHMANDA -The fourth day of Navratra is the day of worshipping Mata Kushmanda, the fourth formof Goddess Durga. The universe is formed from the abdomen of Mata Kushmanda. Observing fast on this day removes all the diseases of the devotee. It can free the person from all the pains and receives extreme joy and happiness.MataKushmanda is offered Malpua as Bhog. Offering Malpua Bhog pleases the Goddess and She improves the intellect and decision making ability of the devotee.
• BHOG FOR MAA SKANDMATA -Mata Skandmata is worshipped on the fifth date of Navratra. Skandmata is the mother of Kumar Kartikeya. This form of Mata fulfils all the wishes of the devotee.Banana is offered to the Goddess as Bhog. Offering Banana to the goddess keeps the physique healthy.
• BHOG FOR MAA KATYAYANI -Mata Katyayani is the sixth form of Mata Durga and is worshipped on Shashthi date of Ashwin month. Mata Katyayani is the daughter of Sage Katyayan. Mata born as his daughter and thus she is called Katyayani. On this day, Honey is offered as Bhog to Maa Katyayani. This makes the devotee more attractive.

• BHOG FOR MAHAGAURI - On the day of Durga Ashtami, the eighth form of Mata, Mahagauri is worshipped. Goddess Mahagauri fulfils the wishes of childless couples with child.
• BHOG FOR MAA SIDDHIDATRI - On the ninth day of Navratra, Mata Siddhidatri is worshipped. Mata Siddhidatri is said to fulfil all types of wishes. This fast relieves the person from the fear of death and prevents from any unlikely incident. The nine days of Mata is considered the most auspicious of the year.
