Meditation for Changing World

Meditation for Changing World
Living in the world of paradox and relativity is not an easy task. Life has become a random, temporary existence with no greater purpose than earning fat incomes and buying materialistic items. Obviously the result will not be in our favour, we get only greedy materialism, self –indulgence and lots of frustration. Undoubtedly a world built upon such a shoddy structure is destined to collapse.

All in all these days The World shows only upheaval, conflict and senseless brutality. Then a question is bound to arises, one may ask how meditation fits into the picture. Is it a magic lamp to remove crime from inner cities, or most importantly to restore world peace, renew the environment, or eliminate greed and corruption? No, it does not promise anything like. Only it serves as a feasible or realistic tool for transformation. So by doing this we can gradually learn to live in a manner both positive and uplifting. Thus the root problem is, our individual attitude and behaviour must change. We need to reclaim the ethics and values which foster compassion and peace. Simply Meditation fosters such change and gives us the true experience to sustain it. These rediscoveries of us may be the only way in which the world can survive peacefully.

At this level one may ask how meditation exists, and operate regardless of our beliefs. Let’s ask ourselves ‘would a farmer doubt the seeds, once planted. Why not we embrace our own spiritual reality, instead of questioning it?

If we begin to understand the value of spirituality and get into the practice of meditation, it will provide the lasting satisfaction our soul often seeks. Thus the point is not to stroke our egos but to help us move forward, to redefine our character. Meditation is the first step on the journey to self –realization. Meditation impacts our ways of thinking, perceiving, and reacting. We influence the lives of others with whom we come in contact .By changing ourselves we make the world a better place. The contribution may be subtle, but it’s real. Being a positive force in family, business, and social life that is so needed in these critical times, we can serve the society.

This poised journey needs time and commitment, so do not go fast. Plant seeds of spiritual aspiration in the soil of meditation. Water them with faith, devotion, and dedication. Then surely you will harvest the divine fruits and tremendous change in your life.
